Volunteer: How can you help The Folly?

Volunteer Stewards for The Folly

The stewards' role is to prepare the building for opening and closing, welcome visitors, take admission money and deal with sales from the small shop. Stewards work in pairs to ensure that the museum is fully supervised and that visitors have an enjoyable experience when they visit The Folly. This work is essential to the running of The Folly, in order to be able to continue with the regular openings. Without this group of volunteers the museum would not be able to admit the public and as ticket sales are the main source of income for the museum it is especially important that we can continue to do so.

Hospitality Volunteers
The Folly attracts regular group visits outside the normal opening times. The Folly also hosts a variety of events, from talks in the evening to afternoon tea on a Saturday afternoon. We should like several volunteers who would be happy to help with providing refreshments for all these events.

The Museum of North Craven Life's collection is very varied including, photographs, documents, books, decorative art, paintings, prints, and a range of social history items. We need to recruit a group of volunteers to support the Museum's Honorary Curator, and to help with the process of cataloguing.

Volunteer Documentation Assistants
The museum collection is now being catalogued on to a computerised database and we should like to recruit more volunteer cataloguers to help with the task.
