Schools and Education Visits
The Museum is normally open 5 days a week
between Easter and the end of October. We would be delighted to open the Museum
on other days for a student/school visit, which must be pre-booked well in
advance by contacting us
We have additional facilities in our nearby premises (2 minutes' walk from
The Folly) - two study rooms, kitchen and toilet facilities.
We have materials in our collection to provide workshops, for example on
"Homes a long time ago" (Unit 2 in DfES History schemes of work),
"A Roman Case Study" (Unit 6A), "Children in the Second World
War" (Unit 9) and "Children living in Victorian Britain" (Unit
11).
Throughout our season, we organise child centred family activities and events.
These are FREE but a donation of 50p per child is invited to cover the cost
of materials. Accompanying adults pay the normal admission
charge only when visiting the exhibitions.
